How to Elevate ScreenConnect's Permissions

Overview

This article explains how to elevate ScreenConnect's permissions so that you can view the UAC prompts that a user may see when running items that require administrative rights.

Steps

First Step

Before you can elevate the permissions of ScreenConnect on a Guest machine you will need to:

  1. Log into ScreenConnect.
  2. Start a session.

Second Step

Follow these instructions:

  1. Click on Miscellaneous in the upper left corner of your session.
  2. Choose Send Control+Alt+Delete.
  3. You'll be given a prompt to put in administrative credentials
  4. After you enter administrative credentials, click OK.
  5. The user may receive a UAC popup asking them if it's okay for the permissions to be elevated, have them click OK.
    Warning
    While this popup is up for the customer it may look like you have lost your connection to their computer. After they click OK it should return to normal after a few seconds.
  6. Once they click okay, your screen should load the Ctrl+Alt+Delete Screen, click Cancel
  7. You should now be able to see every UAC popup that the customer sees.
