Delta Email Formatting

If you access your IWU email through the delta.indwes.edu website (also known as Outlook Web Access), you will need to use the website to setup your email signature. Even if you have already setup your signature in Outlook or Entourage, you will still need to add your signature on Delta as well.

Premium vs. Basic

There are two different "modes" (premium and basic) for the Delta website which allow different editing options. Access to the premium mode is only available when using Internet Explorer (not from Firefox, Safari, Chrome or other browsers). If available, the premium option will be visible just below the password field on the login screen. If the option does not appear, premium mode is not available and basic mode will be automatically selected.

Limitations

The Delta email signatures cannot support all of the formatting specified in the IWU Visual Identity Manual. In basic mode, you cannot change any of the formatting (font, size, color, etc...). In premium mode, although you can copy+paste the formatted signature from Microsoft Word or Outlook, the additional formatting will make the signature too large to save. For consistency, it is recommended that you create your signature in Delta using the instructions below.

Email Signature Instructions (Premium)

  1. Navigate to https://delta.indwes.edu and sign in with your username and password.
  2. Click the Options button on the left-hand side.
  3. In the Messaging Options section, check the box labeled "Automatically include my signature on outgoing messages."
  4. Click the Edit Signature button.
  5. Type your email signature into the textbox. Hold the SHIFT key when you press ENTER at the end of each line to keep the signature single-spaced.
  6. Select all of the text and change the font to Arial and the size to 10.
  7. Click the "Save and Close" button in the upper left-hand corner.

In premium mode, you can set the default font for new message:

  1. Click the Options button on the left-hand side.
  2. In the Messaging Options section, click on the "Choose Font" button (just below the "Edit Signature" button).
  3. If available, select "Georgia" as the font, otherwise select "Arial."
  4. Select "Regular" as the font style, and "12" as the size.
  5. Set the color to "black".

Note: These instructions are based on version 1.8 of the Visual Identity Manual. In the event of any conflict, the Visual Identity Manual should be considered authoritative.
