It is the policy of Indiana Wesleyan University to respect the ownership of all intellectual material protected by state and federal laws. The University does not condone copying instead of purchasing copyrighted works where copying would constitute an infringement under copyright law.
Copyrighted material produced by sources outside the University shall not be reproduced by University Print Center staff or on university equipment, except in cases of "Fair Use", unless the written permission of the holder of the copyright has first been obtained. No reproduction will be made prior to receipt of written permission from the copyright holder. Faculty, staff, and students should make a conscientious effort to comply with this policy.
The guidelines set forth in Circular 21 from the Library of Congress US Copyright Office (http:///www.copyright.gov/circs/circ21.pdf) will be used to determine if a print/copy request meets "Fair Use" criteria.
This policy will affect employees, faculty and students.
