Policy

Employees who plan on retiring should give significant advance notice to Indiana Wesleyan University. Under certain circumstances, employees who have served the University for at least 10 years and who retire from the University after age 62 may be able to continue coverage under the University's group medical insurance program until they are eligible for Medicare.

At age 65, a retired employee will be eligible for Medicare supplement insurance if the employee had 10 years of service with the University and was age 55 as of January 1, 2001.  Contact Human Resources for additional information.

Information relating to TIAA-CREF and Wesleyan Pension Fund retirement and Social Security policies may be obtained in the Human Resources Department.

Scope

This policy applies to all the employees of the University.
