Business Continuity Plan - DHCP

Synopsis

DHCP is handled on the virtual server LIGHTBLUE.  LIGHTBLUE is an instance on VMCluster 2.

Continuity Plan

SERVER NAME:                                              LIGHTBLUE

HOST NAME:                                                   EVC Cluster 2

RECOVERY PLAN:

Short Term Plan: Recovery Strategy:       DHCP can be run on any Windows 2008 R2 server box as long as the C:\Windows\System32\DHCP directory from LIGHTBLUE is restored to it and it is given 10.7.1.170 as the IP address.  In the case of an emergency we wouldn’t have to restore the entirety of LIGHTBLUE to get DHCP Back up and running. We just need that directory on a Windows server box with the DHCP service running.

Long Term Plan:               Total server failure would require installation of Windows Server 2008R2, NetBackup agent and a restore from tape for LIGHTBLUE.

               Recovery Point Objective:           24 hours

               Recovery Time Objective:            1 hour
