Email

The Email tool in Brightspace can be used to send and receive instant messages.  It can also be utilized to send emails to classmates and faculty.  **Please note return emails cannot be received within Brightspace.  Replies to emails sent within Brightspace will be routed to your IWU Outlook email account.**

Option 1

1.  Click on the "Communication" dropdown.

2.  Choose "Classlist"

3.  Click the box next to each student or faculty member that you would like to send an email to or to send an email to all students and faculty members in the course, click the box located in the header.

4.  After identifying the email recipients, click on "Email"

5.  Compose email message and press "Send".

Option 2

1.  Click on the "Communication" dropdown.

2.  Choose "Email".

3.  Click on "Address Book".

4.  The address book will open in a new window.  When you scroll to the bottom, the instructor and list of classmates will be provided.  Click the box next to each student or faculty member that you would like to send an email to or to send an email to all students and faculty members in the course, click the box located in the header.

5.  Select one or more recipients, then click on the To, Cc, or Bcc links to add them to the Recipients area.

6.  Once all recipients have been selected, click "Add Recipients" to add these recipients to the email message.

7.  Compose email message and press "Send".

Option 3

1.  Click on the Email icon on the Minibar.

2.  Choose "Email".

3.  Click on "Address Book".

4.  The address book will open in a new window.  When you scroll to the bottom, the instructor and list of classmates will be provided.  Click the box next to each student or faculty member that you would like to send an email to or to send an email to all students and faculty members, in the course, click the box located in the header.
