The Live chat function is used by your professor to be able to answer questions in real time.
Live Chat can be opened from the top menu. The icon is shown in the image below.
By clicking on the Live link you will have a pop-up saying that the window needs to be left open and then a Java plugin will run.
When you see the page below, check the box that says "Do not show this again for apps from the publisher and location above" and then click Run.
The window that you are to leave open will then update to look like the image below.
Once you see this screen click on the red speech bubble to enter the chatroom. You will see a screen like the one below.
You can enter your messages in the bar at the bottom, click on a name in the section on the right to see profiles, or double click on them for private messaging.
All incoming messages will be in the panel on the left. Once you are done you can close al windows
Make sure you have the most recent version of Java. You can check to be sure you have the most recent version at www.java.com/verify. After installing close down and reopen your browser to launch the plugin and then try the Live Chat again.
