Restore Advanced Settings - IE8, IE9

Overview

This guide will walk you through reseting the "Advanced Settings" for Internet Explorer 8 and 9. Resetting these settings can often resolve odd issues within Internet Explorer such as being unable to navigate to certain web pages etc.

Steps

First Step

  1. Click on the "Tools" option in the upper right corner of the browser. This option will look different depending on your version of Internet Explorer:

    Internet Explorer 8:

    File:HardwareSoftware/SoftwareApps/Internet_Explorer/Restore_Advanced_Settings_-_IE8,_IE9/Settings_IE8.png

    Internet Explorer 9:

    File:HardwareSoftware/SoftwareApps/Internet_Explorer/Restore_Advanced_Settings_-_IE8,_IE9/Settings_IE9.png

  2. Click on "Internet Options":

Second Step

  1. In the new window click on "Advanced":

  2. Click on "Restore Advanced Settings":

  3. Click on "OK":

  4. Close and re-open Internet Explorer.
