One Room Divided Into Two
Dividing one classroom into two rooms
When Room-Dividing Walls are closed, they can allow one room to be used as two separate rooms.
IR sensors, placed in the ceiling near the wall, can signal to an AV control system whether to treat the room as one large room, or two smaller rooms.
Large Room
When the dividing wall is collapsed into its storage space along one wall, the room is one large room, with these features:
Video
The video source selected by the control system in the front of the room will appear on the front projector and on any TVs in the back of the room.
Audio
The corresponding audio from the source selected by the control system in the front of the room will be heard through the ceiling speakers in the front and the back of the room.
The audio from a wireless microphone system in the front of the room will be heard through the ceiling speakers in the front and the back of the room.
Small Rooms
When the partitions are expanded into a fully dividing wall, the room is divided into two smaller rooms, with these features:
Video
On both sides of the dividing wall, each room has its own:
source - teaching station, or a wall plate with HDMI cable for laptop connection
display - ceiling-mounted projector and wall mounted projection screen
Audio
On both sides of the dividing wall, each room has its own:
sound system - four ceiling-mounted speakers
However, only one of the rooms will have a wireless microphone system. This part of the room will be the front of the large room when the wall is opened.
Example
June 2024. Cincinnati 118/119. Divisible wall partitions separate 118 from 119. A wall mounted TV in 118 only shows video content from 119 when the wall is in the open position shown here. The Display On button only turns on the TV when the wall is open. Sound from the selected PC and the wireless microphone will be heard in all 8 ceiling speakers of 118/119.
