Digital Signage Troubleshooting Guide

This guide provides examples and troubleshooting information for common situations experienced with digital signage.

TV screen is blank (dark, off, empty, etc.)

Reboot the computer.

Then escalate incident to IMT for FourWinds troubleshooting.

TV image is positioned incorrectly (too small, too large, off center, off the edge, etc.)

Reboot the computer.

Then escalate incident to IMT for FourWinds troubleshooting.

TV appears to be powered off

Look for a power switch (rocker type, that may be in the Off position.

Use a remote control to turn on the TV, using fresh batteries.

Try a different input source. Maybe a PC source is sending a blank screen.

TV displays outdated content, when it should be showing current content

Verify the network storage location of the files that should be shown.

Verify network connection to the PC.

Verify VLAN is set to 202.

Then escalate incident to IMT for FourWinds troubleshooting.

TV screen is damaged

Take a photo of the damaged TV, while it is turned on and showing content, and email it to the support center.

Note how the PC is connected to the TV (typically HDMI, DisplayPort, or internal slot PC with no cables, but sometimes VGA)

TV image is fuzzy, has lines, wrong color, or flickering

Take a photo of the damaged TV, while it is turned on and showing content, and email it to the support center.

PC won't automatically log into Digital Signage profile

Reboot the computer, and make sure it is connected with a CAT cable to the network, and note whether LEDs are blinking on the jack where that cable plugs into the PC.
