Document Camera Troubleshooting
Please Note: These instructions are for document cameras at National and Global Regional Site classrooms only
Document Camera Troubleshooting
- Make sure the Doc Cam is turned on. Press and hold the power button to turn on. The blue LED ring surrounding the power button indicates the power is on.
- If there is no blue LED ring around the power button, then the device is not receiving power.
- Connect the power cable to the jack labeled DC 12V IN, on the back panel of the base of the doc cam.
- If the teaching station is not powered on, make sure it is plugged into the wall power outlet, and that any master power switch is in the ON position.
- Wait for it's boot-up cycle to complete (less than 30 seconds).
- If there is no blue LED ring around the power button, then the device is not receiving power.
- Verify that the lens cap has been removed. It is on the underneath-side of the tallest part of the camera, and soft rubber, typically gray in color.
Are you attempting to connect the document camera to the projector or flat panel display?
- Press the Doc Cam button on the Extron Media Link Controller or Touch Panel, located on the Teaching Station
- Press the Display "ON" button on the Extron Media Link Controller or Touch Panel
- If the button is blinking RED, press the Display Mute or Blank button on the Extron Media Link Controller or Touch Panel
- Verify that the DVI or VGA video cable is tightly connected to the Document Camera.
Are you attempting to connect the document camera to a computer for use as a webcam?
- Verify that the USB cable is connected to the Document Camera. It will be a USB 2.0 Type B connector (square, with two angled corners).
- Restart the Doc Cam by holding the power button to turn off, and then repeat to turn back on again.
- If none of these steps resolves the issue, contact the support center for assistance.
