Engineering Lab
This lab has equipment, a mobile TV on a cart, and a mobile slim lectern, but no technology-equipped teaching station.
Display
- The display is a Sony Bravia 55" LED 4K HDTV.
- mounted on a mobile cart
- For optimal results, set your laptop's resolution to 3840 x 2160 (4K).
Control
- The power for the display, source selection, and volume adjustment are all controlled by the Sony wireless remote control.
- Power and volume buttons are also located on the side frame of the TV.
Source
- The mobile cart has a shelf for a laptop, and an HDMI cable with adapter ring that can be connected to the most common types of laptop video output jacks.
- The TV accepts wireless casting from mobile devices, using:
- Airplay, for Mac and iOS devices
- Miracast, for Windows and some Android devices
- The TV has a USB jack for showing photo images
Audio
- A speaker bar is attached to the TV.
- Volume is adjusted by the Sony remote control.
Instructions
- Locate the Sony TV remote control, point it toward the TV, and press the power button to turn it on.
- Connect a source, from the options listed above. Use the Sony TV remote control to select that source, using the input button.
- A laptop will either connect to the HDMI cable, or the wireless casting option (ScreenBeam). Instructions for casting appear on the display when the correct HDMI input is selected.
- USB flash drive should be inserted into the jack on the side panel of the TV. Use the Sony TV remote to navigate the TV menu to select USB device con
- If connecting using wireless casting, access the casting settings for your mobile device.
- When done, turn off the TV, using the remote control.
