Personal Tasks
Goal
After reviewing this how-to article, you will know how to create and modify items in the Personal Tasks widget.
The Personal Tasks widget allows you to create a to-do list within Brightspace. Tasks created in this widget are exclusive to you and, therefore, cannot be viewed or modified by anyone else.
Descriptions
Overview
- The Personal Tasks widget is located on the course homepage.
- Selecting the Add a task... field will allow you to create a new task.
- After creating a task, use the "Enter" key on your keyboard or select anywhere on the course homepage to add the task to the to-do list.
- To mark a task complete, select the checkbox next to the task.
- Select the View Completed Tasks link to review tasks you have marked complete.
- To return to the main Personal Tasks page, follow the Tasks link in the history trail.
Detailed View
- Selecting a specific task will allow you to view the complete task details.
- To modify the text of a task, select the "edit name" box.
- Select the "delete task..." button to delete the task.
- To add or modify a due date, select the "edit due date" field.
- The date for three days in the future will default into the field. Selecting anywhere within the date field will allow you to input the desired due date manually. Choosing the date field a second time (you can press the down arrow key on your keyboard instead) will bring up a monthly calendar.
- Select the "save due date" button to keep the chosen date.
- To disregard or delete an existing due date, select the "remove due date" button.
- To add or modify a note for the task, select the "edit notes" field.
- Once you entered any notes about the task, select anywhere on the course homepage to save your notes.
- To return to the main Personal Tasks page, follow the Tasks link in the history trail.
