How to Setup IWU Voicemail

Steps to set up your mailbox

Access your voice mailbox in one of the following ways:

• Dial "2555" from your telephone. Enter the default security code 2878 when prompted.
• or Dial "2555" from another phone on the IWU system then press *# and enter your extension number. Enter the default security code 2878 when prompted.
• or Dial 765-677-2555 from off campus, then press *# and enter your extension number. Enter the default security code 2878.

Follow the prompts to change your access code (Note: the system will not allow you to use a simple passcode like "1234", "4444", or your extension number.):

• Enter your new code, then press #.
• Enter your new code again, then press #

Follow the prompts to record your name

• Press 2 to start recording
• Say your name
• Press 2 to stop recording

When you are finished, you can review and rerecord your name, or save it using the following keys:

• Press 5 to save and move to the next step
• Press 6 to review
• Press 4 to discard and rerecord

Follow the prompts to record your greeting (Note: it is recommended that your write out your greeting and then read it aloud to record it. Also, you will need to say your name as part of your greeting as the new system does not play your name you recorded in the previous step).

Sample message: "You've reached the voicemail of [NAME]. I am unable to take your call right now, but if you leave your name, number and a brief message, I will get back to you as soon as possible."

• Press 2 to start recording
• Say your greeting
• Press 2 to stop recording

When you are finished, you can review and re-record your greeting, or save it using the following keys:

• Press 2 to continue recording (NOTE: this will add the new recording on to the previous recording, if you want to delete and rerecord, press 4)
• Press 5 to save
• Press 6 to review
• Press 4 to discard and rerecord
