Office 365 Widget
Goal
After you complete this how-to article, you will know how to set up and use the Office 365 widget.
Instructions
Set up
- From the Brightspace main homepage, locate the Office 365 widget.
- Select the button, Sign in to your Office365 account.
- A new tab will automatically open in your web browser and close automatically soon after.
- If the new tab does not close automatically, you will be prompted to the Microsoft login page, where you will use your IWU email address and password to log in.
- The content for the Office 365 widget will now be loaded.

General
- Select the Outlook (Mail), Calendar, or OneDrive button to open the respective Microsoft app in a new tab of your web browser
- The number after the Outlook icon tells you the number of unread emails in your inbox folder. This count does not include unread emails you have in other folders.

- The number after the Calendar icon shows the number of in-progress and upcoming calendar events you have scheduled for the current day. This count does not include events that have already finished for the current day, nor events planned for future dates.

- Select the "show content" button to expand the widget and preview the most recent items

- Select the Outlook, Calendar, or OneDrive tab to preview its respective content within the widget

- If you select anywhere in the preview area of the three tabs, the respective Microsoft app will open in a new tab of your web browser. The app's default initial view will be loaded, so the content of the specific item you may have selected from the preview area will not be directly loaded.
- Select the Outlook, Calendar, or OneDrive tab to preview its respective content within the widget
- To reset the widget so it no longer pulls in content for your IWU Office 365 account, select the link in the bottom right corner, Disconnect [your IWU email address]
- If you ever wish to connect the widget to your account again, you will need to redo the instructions outlined in the Set up section of this article
