Student Self-Service Password Reset

The Self-Service Password Reset tool allows students to reset their IWU passwords on their own, with needing no direct input from the IWU Support Center.

However, in order to do so students MUST first follow the 'Set Recovery Options' steps below. Once this has been done for first time, students will from that point forward be able to autonomously reset their IWU passwords as well as update their recovery options in the event of a phone number or e-mail change in the future.

To get to, or back to, the 'IWU Password Reset' page go to https://myiwu.indwes.edu and select the 'Forgot Password link. Please note that it may be easier to right-click on the preceding link and select 'Open in new tab' or 'Open in new window' in order to be able to view the reset page while still being able to reference these instructions.

Set Recovery Options

1. Select the 'Update Options' button under the 'Update Recovery Options' heading.

2. Enter your IWU e-mail address (ex: joe.smith@myemail.indwes.edu) or IWU username (ex: joe.smith) in the 'IWU Username' box and select the red 'Continue' button at the button-right of the screen.

3. Select 'Authenticate with E-mail' followed by the 'Send PIN' button.

4. Check your IWU e-mail for the PIN, enter it in the blank box, and select the red 'Continue' button at the bottom-right.

  • If you are unable to access your IWU e-mail due to not knowing your password you will need to contact the IWU Support Center directly at 765-677-2209 to be provided with a temporary password.

5. On the 'Configure or Update Authentication Methods' screen, add information to the 'Alternative E-Mail' and 'Phone Number' boxes, being sure to select your correct cell carrier.

6. Select the 'Finish' button at the bottom-right. You should be returned to the 'IWU Password Reset' page with the following message displayed at the top of the page.

7. Please note that while steps 1-6 above must be used to set your recovery options for the first time, if in the future you need to update your recovery e-mail or phone number you will simply follow the same steps again.

Password Reset

1. Select the 'Begin Reset' button under the 'Password Reset' heading.

2. Enter your IWU e-mail address (ex: joe.smith@myemail.indwes.edu) or IWU username (ex: joe.smith) in the 'IWU Username' box and select the red 'Continue' button at the button-right of the screen.

3. Select either 'Authenticate with E-mail' or 'Authenticate with SMS' followed by the 'Send PIN' button.

4. Check your selected e-mail (from step 3) or phone for the PIN, enter it in the blank box, and select the red 'Continue' button at the bottom-right.

5. After authenticating you will be placed on a 'Create a New Password' page.

6. Type your desired, new password into both the 'Password' and 'Confirm Password' boxes, while being sure to meet all the listed requirements, and select the red 'Reset' button at the bottom-right of the page.

7. On the 'Review Changes' page you will see a 'Status' column that will indicate whether the password change was successfully implemented. Selecting the red 'Finish' button at the bottom-right will return you to the 'IWU Password Reset' landing page.
