Returning IT Equipment as a Remote Worker

 Overview

This reference page will guide you through returning IT equipment to the university when employment draws to a closure point.
Note:
If you are looking to return equipment as a part of a computer repair, or lifecycle replacement, please work with the Support Center via your open ticket.

Details

These methods below are intended for use when returning equipment to the university when employment has come to an end point for remote employees.

Option 1
If you live near a regional education center
Option 2
If you do not live near a regional education center
  • You may physically drop off the equipment at any IWU regional education center, while they are open.
  • Have your supervisor notify Kyle Lewis when the equipment has been dropped off at the site
  • An IT staff member will pick up the equipment from the regional center at their next visit to the site.
     
  • Take the equipment to a local UPS store
  • Ship to the address in the section below
  • UPS stores should be able to provide bubble wrap / protection for the equipment during shipment
  • UPS will provide a tracking number and receipt
  • Send the tracking number to your supervisor and Kyle Lewis

Reimbursement for Shipments

Employees should provide a copy of the receipt to their supervisor and work with them  on requesting reimbursement for the shipping costs. This is subject to all relevant department or academic/operating unit's standard processes for reimbursement.
